The gala programme will also feature Kenneth Greve’s hugely popular Moomin ballet in its entirety. Moomin and the Magician’s Hat
Moomin and the Magician’s Hat is a joint production by choreographer Kenneth Greve and composer Tuomas Kantelinen, a duo renowned for their ballet hits. This ballet, which has already dazzled sell-out audiences in Japan, Helsinki and Oulu, opens the gala evening with the beloved story by Moomin author Tove Jansson.
Moomin and the Magician’s Hat is set in Moomin Valley where the appearance of a mysterious top hat sets off a chain of bizarre events. Along with the Moomin family, the audience will meet Sniff, Snufkin, Snorkmaiden, Little My and the Groke.

The evening continues with a grand gala featuring a varied selection of classical ballet and contemporary dance favourites. Extracts from classical ballet works, such as Javier Torres’s Sleeping Beauty, Alexei Ratmansky’s Anna Karenina and Kenneth Greve’s The Snow Queen will be complemented with leading edge contemporary dance pieces, specially tailored for the FNOB dancers.
