Presenting the premieres of the 2021–2022 season

Today it’s more true than ever that good things come to those who wait. Our doors have been shut for several months, the foyers have been empty and the brass fanfares marking the start of a performance have quietened down.

Meanwhile, we’ve grown even stronger. We’ve put together and prepared a marvellous repertoire, and we can’t wait to share breathtaking, exhilarating and comforting moments with our audience at the Opera House.

This season, our opera and ballet productions are about longing for freedom, rebellion and suspicion, but above all about passionate love. Let love be a source of strength for us all.

Ticket sales for autumn 2021 start on 5 May at 12 p.m, while tickets for spring 2022 and performances included in the season ticket will be available from 31 August at 12 p.m.

The strength of art is often hidden in surprisingly small gestures. For a music performance to be convincing, the intensity of the music and the physical strength of the performer must come together and create an affecting whole.”

– Chief Conductor Hannu Lintu
