The Finnish Cultural Foundation’s Edvard Fazer Prize has been awarded to principal dancer Frans Valkama of the Finnish National Ballet.
The acclaimed international production premiered in Tokyo in November 2023. It is directed by Pierre Audi, the General Director of Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, with sets designed by one of the world’s most famous sculptors, Anish Kapoor.

The award, given every other year, is awarded to a young dancer of the Finnish National Ballet.
Behind this full-length ballet production are the British choreographer David Bintley and the composer Sally Beamish.
The current Opera House by the Töölönlahti bay was inaugurated on 30 November 1993. To mark its 30th anniversary, the house has undergone extensive refurbishments, and was closed to visitors from May to August.
