Introduction
I am a director from Budapest, now based in Helsinki. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Film Directing from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, and I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Theatre Directing at the University of the Arts Helsinki. My background is quite multidisciplinary: I was a member of a Hungarian independent theatre group, acting, directing and playing music in many different shows. I have also worked as a dramaturg and as a playwright, and directed several music videos. I have directed shows in Finland, including Burial at Uniarts and Tiikeriooppera at Tampereen Työväen Teatteri. Having received ten years of training in music theory and classical guitar, live music on stage has always played an important role in my artistic approach. This is why I took great joy in directing my first chamber opera at Musiikkitalo this year (1994 San Marino Grand Prix): creating an opera requires many different art forms to come together with artists working collectively.
