Helsinki Festival: Rrrrrr. Story of a caterpillar
music theater performance for children
Where do butterflies come from? From a tiny egg. Do they already have colorful wings? No, first they are caterpillars – small, elongated creatures with legs. The caterpillar builds itself a silk house, where it makes a hole, and when it comes out, it has grown and transformed into a butterfly.
Rrrrrr. Story of a Caterpillar is a visually beautiful and playful wordless dance and music theater performance for children aged 2 to 6, as well as their families or accompanying teachers. The performance is accompanied by Chopin’s most beloved compositions – waltzes, nocturnes, and mazurkas – interpreted by pianist Francesc Mora live on stage as part of the show. Towards the end, children are also welcome to participate if they wish.
