INTRODUCTION
I am a distinctive scriptwriter whose goal is to tell human-centered stories with a twinkle in my eye. As a writer, I am both a bold enthusiast and a pragmatic planner in one package. In my artistic work, the most important thing for me is thinking together. Writing should not be a lonely slog, but a social event. When we tell a story, we are always telling something about ourselves to others.
I have had the opportunity to tell stories in charming theatre communities as well as in tenacious film crews. In my free time, my storytelling has taken the form of tabletop role-playing games. Opera’s stories, however, have remained more distant to me. I couldn’t imagine myself approaching that art form. Then I saw an announcement for the Sokeritehdas Contemporary Opera Stage project. My curiosity won. Now my goal is to delve into opera and find something new, something of my own in it. I want to discover something that will inspire those who have never before imagined opera as their own to engage with it.
