Triple Bill: World Wide Dance

The Triple Bill takes you on a trip around the world. It’s an evening of captivating contemporary dance choreographies by three of today’s most talked about choreographers from three continents.

Carmen

The fateful love story of the world’s most popular opera with Bizet’s tantalising tunes takes to the ballet stage. Liam Scarlett’s choreography is set in a cigarette factory in 1930s Spain, just before the start of the civil war. It’s a world in which everyone must fend for themselves in order to stay alive.

Innocence

The world premiere of the new opera by Kaija Saariaho and Sofi Oksanen at Festival d’Aix-en-Province on 3 July 2021 was a major success. The premiere at the Finnish National Opera will take place on 21 October 2022.

Die Walküre

The second part of the Ring, Die Walküre, is a universally relatable story about war, fear, courage, and love. The visuals reminiscent of World War II, the psychological sharpness and the riveting plot keep the audience as gripped as the best of today’s drama series.

Siegfried

Siegfried is the third part of the Ring cycle by Wagner, in which the mythical hero Siegfried fights to win back the ring forged from the Rheingold, standing in the way of Wotan, the lord of the gods. The opera, directed by Anna Kelo and conducted by Hannu Lintu, is set to become the highlight of spring 2023.
